Who am I?

Today I woke up early in the morning. I smelled the fresh smog filled air that makes Southern California so famous. I rubbed my eyes to further wake myself up. Then I slowly made my way down the stairs to check box scores and news on what happened in the basketball world the previous day on my laptop. As I flipped the power switch on and waited shortly for my computer to boot up I began to think. Over the years I've watched numerous athletes play the game of basketball and never took the time to think about how much we really loved the game. I was then thinking about designs for future apparel ideas to sell on the site. One idea that popped into my head was unity in basketball. Another was heart. Another passion. And another Hard work.

I thought a little bit further and realized something about this sport that occurs literally in no other sport except for basketball. The fact that once you get on that court, we are all the same. You can go to any court around the world, pick up a ball, and run in a game with whomever is there. This itself brings a sense of unity to us all. Then I thought a little further about our political situations. This is when it got weird.

What if instead of all of our world leaders played basketball instead of debating. What if the republicans played in a mini march madness style tourney to decide on our health care system. what if what if what if. Then I got ahold of myself and started thinking normal again.

Basketball itself goes beyond boundaries created by race, religion, cultural background, age whatever. All of these boundaries are non-existent and we tend to get along great on the court. We respect those who respect the game and play it hard and well. We brush aside those who disrespect the game and move forwards without them. The best remain on the court as the rest watch and learn. Confidence brings out the slam dunk for the first time in the 6th grade. Heart brings out the game winning shot against your arch rival. Passion brings out the will to study, the will to learn, the will to listen, and the will to ask questions. Hard work makes you a leader and when all of these are combined, they make you a basketball player..........pretty crazy thoughts eh? But wait.....Too much confidence makes you Antoine Walker and then you blow over 100 million dollars......you must also be....a businessman.
