Just yesterday Brandon Jennings put up 55 points with 29 in the third quarter. Tyreke Evans is putting up 16.8 points per contest and college basketball has just begun. Sorry for the switch from pros to student athletes but basketball has taken a turn. And that turn is something I've enjoyed watching.
First and foremost I'd like to say that all of those media outlets who bashed Brandon Jennings last year for his trip to Europe need to get on their knees and ask for forgiveness. The only Major Media outlet I can even remember being on Jennings' side was SLAM magazine, other than them that means everyone else doubted Jennings. Just like the teams that would not select him even though every single pre draft report had him as the fastest, and best able pg in the draft. The Warriors easily needed him, passed and now he torched em. Now Brandon is on a mission, a mission to prove all those who looked down on him wrong. That means we are no longer listed as crazy for thinking or should I say, knowing this was going to happen.
Tyreke honestly is surprising me right now. I was one of his biggest critics when he was in high school because of his poor shooting mechanics. The only thing he's done through college and now the pros is prove my dumbass wrong. From me to you Tyreke.....I'm sorry.....but hey, at least I was honest right?
College basketball just started up and we're excited to watch for these players.
John Wall
Renardo Sidney
Michael Snaer
Malcom Lee
Klay Thompson
Gerard Anderson
Solomon Hill
Jordan Hamilton
Avery Bradley
And many more that I honestly can't think of. I am more freshman biased because I watch more high school basketball than any other basketball...sorry guys.
As for high school we are going to be doing things a lot differently this year. For starters we have been very West Coast because we obviously are based on Southern California. But this year we will be making two East Coast trips. One to the City Of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, and the second at the HoopHall Classic in Springfield, Mass. Not only will we be on the East coast but also making our usual rounds. Here's a list of where we will be this year.
Westchester Tip-Off (Westchester high school)
Ocean View Tournament of Champions (ocean view high school)
Mission Prep Christmas Classic (Mission Prep High School)
Bank Of America City Of Palms Classic (Fort Myers, Fla)
Torrey Pines Max Preps Holiday Classic (Torrey Pines high school)
Spalding HoopHall Classic (Springfield, Ma)
Pangos Dream Classic (Long Beach)
Nike Extravaganza (Mater Dei High school)
Now those are most of the big events we will be visiting and I know many of you will be at these events. And I also know that you may want to know who we will be following this year. By popular demand here's our list:
Dwayne Polee (Westchester)
Cezar Guerrero (St John Bosco)
Gelaun Wheelright (Corona Centennial)
Michael Gilchrist (St. Patricks)
Kyrie Irving (St. Patricks)
Keala King (Mater Dei)
Tyler Lamb (Mater Dei)
Gary Franklin (Mater Dei)
Deonta Burton (Compton Centennial)
Keep in mind that this list will obviously grow throughout the season when we spot new kids.
I have one other thing to make notice of......Our first webisode you may have seen from the SayNoClassic a few months back. Well that was an experiment that went well. We will be bringing that back with every major event we go to along with interviews and more. Ballislife will not just be all about mixtape making this year, but doing what we do best. Bringing something new to the table.
Ohhhh yeah, also you guys who come on this site, need to support us by buying our products. Visit our store and get some gear. I personally lobbied to get products on here for you guys at very reasonable prices. I mean come on, a baller bag for 6 bucks? and shorts for 20? Did you know you could get a dvd with a bag for just 15 dollars? The more you guys support us the more trips outside of California we will make, and the more exposure we can continue to give more and more kids across the nation. Plus the gear looks really tight. So get on your game and get with Ballislife gear. We will have hoodies, and zip up hoodies coming soon, but only if you guys buy our products first!!
