BALL IS LIFE

Back at it again for week 2! This has lasted twice as much as most of my other "on-going" blogs. A lot of things that went down this past week in the NBA, Wizards owner Abe Pollin passed away at 85, Allen Iverson decided to call it quits (for now), Nate Robinson shooting at his own basket after the time expired became a huge deal somehow, and Jack Mai the now ex-Sacramento Kings assistant director of scouting is now banned from the NBA for wagering bets on NBA games. Oh and a whole bunch of highlights!

To start things off, Ballislife alumni had a pretty good week this past week.
Avery Bradley scored 17 points in his Texas debut, 2 of those points came with this nasty facial over Richie Gordon.
Derrick Williams scored 25 points last game for Arizona, but it was the game before that where he showed us why he's been on Ballislife a few times.

Demar Derozan showing his hops once again with this 2 hand and-1 alley-oop jam over the heat.
However in that same game. Demar got to experience first hand on why you should always be on top of your game in the NBA, much thanks to Dwayne Wade

Demar should consider himself pretty luck though, for having teammates like Mensah-Bonsu who just like any other good teammate would do, tells D-wade to not mess with his rookie. (Yeah, I know the block actually took place before the dunk, but you can't deny that it makes a good story.. Ha!)

I'm sure by now most of you have seen Lebron destroy Monta Ellis' lay-up attempt, but it's worth another look.

Hey! Doesn't this kind of seem like a streetball game? (Not the dunk, but the fact that everyone just stood and watched Lebron)

The nets are still win-less, which is why this sweet play by Devin Harris is the best thing that's happened to them so far this season.

How sad do you get when you see this dunk by Vince against the Raptors? If you were new to basketball and I told you that this guy is (well was) the best dunker in the history of the game, would you believe me?

Check out the body control on this spectacular play by J.R. Smith. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that was better than both of Vince Carter's 360 lay-ups, just look at how smooth that looked. Smith is no Vince though, his 2 dunk contest appearances have been failures, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the man who wants to be called "Earl" is one of the best in-game dunkers in the league.

How can we talk about the Nuggets and not mention the Melo-man? Check out as Carmelo welcomes rookie Taj Gibson to the NBA the traditional way.

Joakim Noah has been balling this season, and has handed out a few of these already.

Would you rather see a sick dunk in a game or a game winning shot? Well thanks to Josh Smith we get to see both in one play.

Is Kobe still the best? Yes, and until you find someone else in the NBA who can do all this (let a lone do it all in one game) then come debate with me.

And finally, just want to congratulate Baron Davis on his 5000th assist.
